I’m often asked how our company came up with such a unique name. Here is the story.
Looking back on my parents’ legacy, I am filled with admiration and pride for their journey to create RueVac Property Services. My parents, Ron and Tahwahnah Lyons, were young and ambitious when they decided to start their own company in the charming city of San Juan Capistrano, California. At the ages of 27 and 25, they were determined to build a memorable business that stood out.
They knew they wanted a unique name that differed from the mundane options standard in the industry. They tried to avoid names like “Ron’s Sweeping Service” and instead sought something that would genuinely represent their vision and the services they provided.
During one of their brainstorming sessions, they decided to use my mother’s middle name, Rue, which is French for “street,” combined with the word “Vac,” representing the vacuum services they offered at the time. The name “Rue-Vac” was born, and it perfectly encapsulated their mission to provide exceptional parking lot vacuum cleaning services.
In 1975, they officially incorporated under the name Rue-Vac, with a hyphen to emphasize the unique combination of words. The name was memorable, and it quickly became synonymous with quality and reliability in the booming Orange County market.
Over the years, as the company expanded and diversified its services, the hyphen was removed, and “Property Services” was added to the name to reflect the array of services we now provide to our customers. Today, RueVac Property Services stands as a testament to my parents’ vision and dedication, continuing to uphold the values and excellence that they instilled from the very beginning.
As their son, I am honored to carry forward their legacy and ensure that RueVac Property Services remains a trusted partner for our clients, providing top-notch services and maintaining the high standards that my parents set.
